I signed up for Skillshare as a free trial.
The afternoon BEFORE my trial was supposed to end I received the email from them thanking me for subscribing to Premium.
Naturally, I was confused. It is normal for organizations to offer free trials in hopes that you like the product enough to really cover it. What is not normal is for the enterprise to LIE for you and charge you the day before the free trial will end, in effect tricking you and stealing your money. I was angry.
I looked online and after 30 minutes of digging I found a telephone number for the firm (Red flag, and what legitimate company does not have an easily accessible customer support number?) . I called this number and it moved directly to voicemail. At this point I was freaking out cause most of these adventures were causing me to think this actually was a scam. The only option left to me was to compose them an email via their site. This was over 3 months ago, and I've yet to have a response.
I am appalled at how that they handle business (by tricking their customers, then dismissing their issues). They stole my money without warning and are now unreachable.
I moved back on their own site as well as their advertisement for Premium is really a lie. It clearly says that your Premium account is cancelable at any time. What they actually mean is you're able to cancel it so it won't renew at the next billing cycle (that will be an entire year!!) . They're Skillshare's Online Courses Reviews on Springboard crooks. If their content were not any good, I'd have happily continued with their solutions, but all their movies are things I can locate on YouTube or other places for free. The only thing I an do now is save other people the hassle.
DO NOT sign up for your free trial. If you do a bit more research you will find a plethora of different reviews such as mine.
Go into Lynda.com or YouTube. Please, don't make the identical mistake that I did, and stay away!!
I wrote to Skillshare one final time, also it looks like from the past 4 months they've upped their customer service match. I obtained a biased response apologizing to my prior experience and having an offer to refund me all my cash. This gesture has been more than I expected, and I am grateful to know that people do work in this company, and it seems they are listening to the negative reviews and also seeking to make a much better company. I still have a sour taste in my mouth, but I feel like once they ended up giving me all my money back I need to upgrade my review and give them more than 1 celebrity.
